SMOKE: Mexico/Central America/Gulf of Mexico... A large area of primarily thin density smoke associated from a significant amount of seasonal burning occurring in southern and eastern Mexico and Central America was visible across a good portion of Central America and southern and eastern Mexico as well as the Bay of Campeche and up over the south central Gulf of Mexico. Flaring from the oil rigs in the Bay of Campeche contributed to the smoke out over the Gulf of Mexico. Florida... Seasonal fires scattered over northern Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and southern Missouri were producing plumes of thin density smoke which moved primarily to the south and southeast.
