DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 1830Z March 28, 2019
SMOKE: Southeast US Several prescribed fires could be observed across Georgia, Florida (Lake Okeechobee and the panhandle) and Alabama during the mid-morning and early afternoon hours. Smoke plumes were predominantly light density, moving towards the southwest in Georgia and Florida and to the west in Alabama following the clockwise low level circulation associated with a high pressure system centered in North Carolina. WS THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE. TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
