DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

SMOKE: Northwestern Canada/Alberta and Southeastern Canada/Ontario... Fire activity over portions of North Central Alberta Province in Northwestern Canada still persists and heavy density smoke was observed in the vicinity of the fires. The smoke is slowly progressing South and East this evening over portions of Alberta Province behind a storm system. Recent fire activity over portions of Western/Eastern Ontario Province in Southeastern Canada has spread light density smoke South and East into Southern Ontario towards the US border. Moderate density smoke was observed in Western Ontario. Heavy density smoke was observed around the vicinity of a fire in Eastern Ontario. The smoke is progressing South and East this evening. Southwestern US/Arizona... The latest GOES16 Visible Imagery observed two large complex fires burning in portions of North/Central Arizona. Light density smoke has spread out and away from the fire activity towards the Northeast. Moderate density smoke was observed closer to the fires. Heavy density smoke was observed in the vicinity of the fires. The smoke is progressing off to the North and East this evening. Southeastern Mexico/Southwestern Mexico/Central America/Southern Gulf of Mexico... Fire activity has rapidly increased according to latest GOES16 Visible Imagery across portions of the Yucatan Peninsula, Southeastern Mexico, and into portions of Central America. Light density smoke was observed throughout the Yucatan Peninsula and up into the Southwestern/Northwestern Gulf of Mexico. Moderate density smoke was observed over portions of Central America and into Southeastern Mexico. Heavy density smoke was observed in the vicinity of fire activity over Central America into Southeastern Mexico. The smoke is slowly progressing North and West this evening. Recent Fire activity over portions of Southwestern Mexico still persists in the region. Light density smoke was observed throughout portions of Southwestern/Northwestern Mexico. Moderate density smoke was observed closer to the fire activity and heavy density smoke was observed in the vicinity of the fires. The smoke is progressing slowly North and East this evening. Sambucci THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE. TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
