DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

SMOKE: Northwestern Canada Alberta Province/South Central Canada into Western Ontario Province ... The latest GOES16 Visible imagery observed several large complex fires burning in Northwestern Canada Northern Alberta Province. Light density smoke was observed throughout most of Alberta Province and has progressed off to the Southeast this morning over South/Central Canada and into Western Ontario Province. Moderate density smoke was also observed as well closer to the fires in Northern Alberta and progressing southeast over the morning into South/Central Canada and into Western Ontario Province. Heavy density smoke was observed in the vicinity of the fires in Northern Alberta Province and moving Southeast into North/Central Canada. The smoke is progressing southeast this morning and early afternoon. Alaska... Several fires were observed with GOES17 Visible imagery with one large complex fire in Northwestern Alaska, another large complex fire south of the Anchorage region, and several smaller fires with one in Northeastern and three other small fires in Southwestern Alaska. The smoke from the two large complex fire is heavy in the vicinity of the fires with light smoke further away from the fires, to moderate density smoke closer to the fires which is progressing southwest over this morning and early afternoon. Southwestern US/Arizona... There are two large complex fires of concern observed with latest GOES16 visible imagery. The fires are located in Central Arizona with light density smoke progressing off to the North and East into portions of Western New Mexico. Moderate density smoke was observed closer to the fire activity. Heavy density smoke was observed in the vicinity of the fires. These fires need to closer be monitored over the day with elevated to critical fire conditions present per SPC Fire weather outlook analysis. The smoke is progressing North and East over the morning and early afternoon. Northwestern Mexico... Several small seasonal fires were observed looking at the latest GOES 16 visible imagery. Light density smoke was observed across most of Northwestern Mexico with moderate density smoke closer to the fires and heavy density smoke in the vicinity of the fires. The smoke is progressing southwest towards the Pacific this morning and early afternoon. SAMBUCCI THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE. TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
