DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 1845Z August 25, 2019
SMOKE: Alaska/Gulf of Alaska... Wildfires in southwest and south central Alaska were still active and releasing moderate density smoke to the east and southeast. Thinner density smoke was visible over much of southern Alaska and offshore over the Gulf of Alaska. Light density smoke was also extended eastward from Alaska to Yukon and Northwest Territories. Cloud cover over other parts of Alaska and northwestern Canada limited smoke detection from satellite imagery in those area. Oregon... The wildfire in central-eastern Oregon remained active releasing moderate density smoke towards the southeast reaching Idaho state border. Wyoming... A wildfire in southern-central Wyoming was visible releasing moderate density smoke towards the east.
