DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 1700Z September 16, 2019
SMOKE: Northwestern Canada... Large wildfires remain active in central Yukon. Excessive cloud coverage prevented smoke delineation across that region. Northern California... The Walker fire was still showing signs of activity during the early morning hours. A large cloud field moving inland prevented smoke observations over the area. Lower Midwest/Mississippi Valley/Southeast U.S... Several small and short-duration agricultural fires could be seen this morning across most of the southeast and the mid-lower Mississippi Valley. A large area consisting of light density remnant smoke at the upper levels of the atmosphere extend from eastern Texas through Georgia, up the mid-Atlantic and across the western Appalachians, lower mid-west and the mid-lower Mississippi Valley.
