off shore Southern Mexico over the far Southeastern portion of the Bay

Arizona/California/Northwest US/Western Canada...
A large complex fire present in Grand Canyon National Park in Northern

observed from the fire activity. Light density smoke was observed
further from the fires and the smoke from these fires are progressing
Northeastward towards Utah, Colorado and New Mexico this evening. A
complex fire is present in the Southern San Joaquin Valley in Central
California with moderate to heavy density smoke observed from this
fire that is progressing southeastward this evening. A region of light
density smoke was observed across portions of the interior Northwest US
and portions of Northern Alberta Province in Canada this evening.

South Florida...
A region of Agricultural burning was observed south of Lake Okeechobee

SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED
FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE.
TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE
ALSO DESCRIBED. USERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO VIEW A GRAPHIC DEPICTION OF THESE
AND OTHER PLUMES WHICH ARE LESS EXTENSIVE AND STILL ATTACHED TO THE SOURCE

  • Only a general description of areas of smoke or significant smoke plumes will be analyzed.
  • A quantitative assessment of the density/amount of particulate or the vertical distribution is not included.
  • Widespread cloudiness may prevent the detection of smoke even from significant fires.
