DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

SMOKE: California... The Briceburg fire east central California was emitting moderately dense to thick smoke which was observed moving east which eventually reached as far as Colorado. Arizona... Fires in northern and central Arizona produced thin streams of light smoke that were heading towards the northeast. Colorado... The Decker Fire in south central Colorado continued to burn and was emitting thin density smoke traveling east-northeast. British Columbia, Canada... There were many fires throughout British Columbia which were emitting light smoke plumes heading towards the east. Rodriguez THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE. TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
