DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 1840Z October 26, 2019
SMOKE: Northern California... The Kincade Fire north of San Francisco continued to burn and produce moderate to thick density smoke which moved primarily to the south this morning. A much larger mass of thin to moderately dense smoke associated with this fire covered a good portion of northern and central California and extended well offshore to the west and southwest. Southern California/Baja... A great amount of wildfires were observed in Tijuana, Mexico producing moderate to thick density smoke which moved to the south and west. Merged with the smoke from Kincade Fire, a larger area of thinner density smoke was seen and extended well offshore of the pacific. YL THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE. TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
