DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 1600Z October 30, 2019
SMOKE: California... The Kincade Fire in northern California continued to emit moderately dense to thick smoke which moved mainly to the Southwest during the morning. A thin plume of thick smoke was observed blowing Southwest from the Getty fire in Los Angeles. Southern Florida... Agricultural fires near and south of Lake Okeechobee were producing thin density smoke plumes which quickly moved off to the west this morning. DUST: California... High winds Northwest of Los Angeles were creating blowing dust off the hills that was seen blowing Northwest. -Westbrook THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE. TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
