DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 0200Z November 9, 2019
SMOKE: Utah/Arizona/Nevada/California... The large fire in Piute County of south central Utah continued to burn through the day emitting another round of thick density smoke which spread to the south and southwest. Remnant thin to moderate density smoke from yesterday's flare up with this fire spread to the south and west covering northern and central Arizona with the smoke also entering southern Nevada and southeastern California by later in the afternoon. JS THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE. TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
