DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 1700Z December 18, 2019
SMOKE: Pacific Northwest/Easter Washington and Eastern Oregon... Small fire activity was observed in Eastern Washington and Eastern Oregon. Smoke from these fires however was not visible due to abundant cloud cover with a weather system in the region. Texas... Isolated small fire activity was observed in portions of Texas. Light density smoke was observed from a few of these fires progressing south and eastward this morning/early afternoon. Mexico/Cuba... Isolated small fire activity was observed in portions of Southern Mexico and Cuba with light density smoke observed from some of these fires. A fire was observed in Southern Cuba with moderate and heavy density smoke observed from this fire and light density smoke further from this fire progressing south and eastward this morning/early afternoon. Sambucci THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE. TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
