DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

SMOKE: Southeastern CONUS... Smoke producing fire activity was noted from southeastern Oklahoma into North Carolina and Florida. The highest density of smoke producing fires is across eastern Georgia and the agricultural area south of Lake Okeechobee. Surface high pressure centered over west-central Alabama and east-central Mississippi is causing smoke across North Carolina and South Carolina to move east, Georgia to move southeast, north Florida to move south-southwest, west-southwest across southern Florida, northwest across Louisiana and eastern Texas, and north across Oklahoma. -Hosley THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE. TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
