DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 0300Z January 28, 2020
SMOKE: Texas… Throughout Texas, numerous fires were observed emitting mainly thin smoke with one or two producing moderate smoke. Smoke across southern Texas was moving north-northwest, while smoke across northern Texas was moving north to north-east. Cuba… About a dozen fires throughout Cuba were observed emitting smoke. The smoke from these fires was moving northeast. Central Mexico… Numerous smoke plumes from presumed agricultural burning were observed across much of central Mexico. The smoke from these fires was generally moving eastward. Hosley THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE. TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
