DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 1600Z April 4, 2020
SMOKE: South Florida… Agricultural burning was observed South of Lake Okeechobee in South Florida with mainly light density smoke observed from these fires. The smoke from the fires is progressing Southeastward this morning. Southern Mexico/Honduras/Southwestern Gulf of Mexico… A large region of light density smoke was observed this morning with GOES16 RGB Visible imagery over the Southwestern Gulf of Mexico along the coast of Mexico south of Texas. Large regions of light to moderate density smoke were also observed over portions of Southern Mexico and most of Honduras. The smoke from the fire activity is mainly progressing Northwestward this morning. Cuba.. Isolated seasonal fire activity was observed this morning with GOES16 RGB Visible imagery with light to moderate density smoke observed from the fire activity. The smoke from the fires is moving Southwestward this morning. Sambucci THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE. TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
