SMOKE: Southern Mexico/Central America/Gulf of Mexico…. A large number of fires over the past few days have generated a large area of smoke that extended over much of the western Gulf of Mexico and southern Texas south through eastern and into southern Mexico and Central America. The smoke then extended west into the eastern Pacific Ocean. Within this area of smoke the highest density smoke extended from the western Gulf of Mexico into Central America and into the coastal eastern Pacific Ocean. Hanna THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE.
