DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

SMOKE: North Carolina... A small complex fire located near Davis in the eastern part of the state is producing light to moderate density plumes initially moving south turning more to the east later in the afternoon. Florida... Agricultural burning continues in the Lake Okeechobee region. Light density plumes from these fires are moving to the southwest. Minnesota/North Dakota/Manitoba/Saskatchewan... Numerous agricultural fires from northwestern Minnesota to southern Manitoba and Saskatchewan are producing a number of light density plumes primary moving off to the north. Mexico... A large area of light to moderate density plume is located over much of the western and central part of the country. Light density plumes are also detected offshore over the eastern Pacific and over the far southeastern part of the country. Konon THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE. TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
