SMOKE: Florida… Several agricultural fires are south and southwest of Lake Okeechobee with light density plumes dispersing towards the west. A wildfire southeast of LaBelle is producing a light to moderate density plume moving to the west. A large wildfire on the northwest side of Picayune Strand State Forest is producing a heavy density plume spreading west-northwest. Mexico and Central America... Numerous fires remained active across the region. Stagnant light density smoke covered much of southern Mexico, Guatemala, and Honduras extending for approximately 200 miles offshore over the Pacific ocean, while also covering most of the southwestern Gulf of Mexico. Pockets of moderate density smoke could also be seen over the states of Guerrero, Chiapas, Tabasco, eastern Veracruz, and western Campeche in Mexico, in addition to northwestern and southeastern Guatemala, and western Honduras. Other small light density plumes are detected over the west-central part of Mexico moving to the north and northeast.
