SMOKE: Florida... A large fire located in southern Jefferson county was emitting moderate density smoke this afternoon. The plume was dispersing towards the south-southeast extending for approximately 100 miles along the coastal areas of Taylor and Dixie counties. DUST: Oregon/Nevada... Blowing dust could be seen originating from dry lake beds located in Lake and Harney counties in southern Oregon, and in Humboldt county in northern Nevada. The prevailing winds were pushing the dust towards the northeast, impacting areas up to 75 miles downwind. Caribbean/Tropical Atlantic... A cloud of relatively thin Saharan dust covers most of the southern Caribbean Sea, moving slowly towards Central America. Another large surge of moderately dense Saharan dust is currently traveling westward over the Tropical Atlantic and is expected to reach the Caribbean region in next few days.
