DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

SMOKE: Texas... A wildfire between Brady and Brownwood continues to burn and is producing a moderate density plume that is moving off to the north. Colorado/Utah/Nevada... Wildfires ongoing over portions of southwest Utah are producing a light to moderate density plume that extended from western Colorado, westward through southern Utah, and into southern Nevada. California... The ongoing wildfire west of Coalinga is producing a light to moderate density plume that was lifting north through portions of central part of the state. DUST: Caribbean Sea/Tropical Atlantic... A light density plume from a Saharan Air Layer (SAL) is over the western part of the tropical Atlantic, the central and western Caribbean Sea, and the Bay of Campeche. Konon THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE. TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
