DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 1530Z July 16, 2020
SMOKE: Colorado/Utah/Nevada... Wildfires ongoing over portions of southwest Utah are producing a light to moderate density smoke plume that extended from northwestern Colorado, westward through northern Utah, and into eastern Nevada. DUST: Caribbean Sea and Gulf of Mexico.. A region of Saharan Dust was located over portions of the western Caribbean Sea extending northwest through Central America the Yucatan Peninsula and into the western Gulf of Mexico. Another region of Saharan Dust was moving trough the southeastern Caribbean Islands and into the southeastern Caribbean Sea. Hanna THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE. TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
