THROUGH 1510Z September 26, 2020
SMOKE: Western, Central and Northern United States, Northern Mexico, Western Gulf of Mexico, North Atlantic... The wildfires over the Western United States continue to produce a large area of smoke that extends from the Rockies through much of the central and eastern United States through southern Ontario and Quebec and then offshore into the North Atlantic Ocean. Within this large area of smoke, an area of moderate to high density smoke was seen from the Upper Midwest through the Central Plains. Another area of moderate to high density smoke was seen closer to the ongoing wildfires over California. Well offshore the Southeast US Coast, an area of light density smoke was seen over the North Central Atlantic Ocean extending west towards Bermuda. Further to the east, an area of moderate density smoke was seen well offshore Europe and extending south over the Northeast Atlantic Ocean.
