DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

SMOKE: Southeastern U.S., Kentucky, and West Virginia ... Numerous small light density plumes from mostly seasonal/agricultural fire activity were detected across the Southeastern U.S. A Leftover patch of thin density smoke attributed to the significant amount of burning yesterday was also visible over eastern Kentucky and moving northeastward covering most of West Virginia. Oregon and Eastern Pacific Ocean... A area of thin density smoke from numerous small fires was detected over the western part of the state extending of the coast westward approximately 120 miles into the Pacific ocean Eglin THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE. TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
