DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 0130Z February 23, 2021
SMOKE: California, Alabama, Mississippi, Texas, Kansas, Florida, Mexico.. In Northern, Central and Southern California three light to heavy density smoke plumes attributed to probable seasonal burning were observed moving in a southerly direction. In Texas numerous light density smoke plumes attributed to seasonal burning were observed moving in a southerly direction. In Alabama and Mississippi four large light to heavy density smoke plumes attributed to probable seasonal burning were observed moving southeast in direction. In Kansas two light density smoke plumes attributed to seasonal burning were observed moving east in direction. In Florida numerous light density smoke plumes attributed to seasonal burning were observed moving north in direction. Throughout Mexico numerous mostly insignificant light density smoke plumes attributed to seasonal burning were observed. Eglin THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE. TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
