Eastern Mexico/Bay of Campeche/Western Gulf of Mexico/Southern Louisiana… Thin density smoke attributed to the daily seasonal fire activity occurring in Mexico along with some contribution from oil rig flaring in the Bay of Campeche was seen this morning across the Bay of Campeche, the western Gulf of Mexico, eastern Mexico, and possibly southern Louisiana. Farther to the north over southern and southeastern Texas, the aerosol which was seen there was believed to be composed more of blowing dust. Southern Mexico/Northern Central America/Pacific south of Mexico… An aerosol likely composed mainly of thin density smoke could be seen along portions of southern Mexico and northern Central America and extending to the south offshore over the Pacific. This smoke is from the daily seasonal fire activity occurring in southern Mexico and Central America. DUST: Southern and Southeastern Texas/Western Louisiana/Southern Arkansas… A swath of leftover thin to perhaps moderate density blowing dust kicked up yesterday over western Texas and northern Mexico was visible this morning across northern Mexico, and southern and southeastern Texas. The dust then extended to the north over western and northern Louisiana and southern Arkansas. It is not known how far north the dust extended from satellite imagery due to extensive cloud cover over portions of the central U.S. JS THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE. TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
