Lower Mississippi Valley… The majority of today’s fire activity occurred in the lower Mississippi River Valley. There was a mixture of light to medium density smoke plumes that generally moved towards the S-SE. Northern California… A few fires emitted light density smoke plumes that were moving towards the NW. Northern Montana border and southern Alberta, Canada border… There were three clusters of fires, two in southern Alberta and one in northern Montana, that emitted smoke plumes towards the E-NE which eventually was covered with clouds. Western Florida, Gulf of Mexico, eastern and southern Mexico and Tropical Eastern Pacific…. A large area of light density smoke, from fire activity over Mexico, Central America and Cuba, extended from the western Florida Gulf Coast through the Gulf of Mexico to eastern and southern Mexico to the Tropical Eastern Pacific Ocean. Rodriguez THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE. TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
