DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 1650Z April 7, 2021
SMOKE: Eastern U.S., Atlantic Ocean... Mostly Light to moderate density smoke was seen stretching from across the eastern U.S. across the Ohio Valley and Great Lakes region, most of the eastern U.S. and through the Coastal Atlantic region extending offshore approximately 1400 miles over the western Atlantic off the south eastern U.S.. This smoke was from recent days of concentrated seasonal fire activity and a few embedded wildfires which were present across the Central U.S. and southeastern U.S. Southern Mexico/Northern Central America/Pacific south of Mexico and Central America... A large region of thin density smoke from the recent ongoing seasonal fire activity in southern Mexico and Central America was visible today over much of the southern Mexico coast and extending well offshore to the southwest over the Pacific. Eglin THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE. TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
