DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

SMOKE: Florida... The Bobcat wildfire remained active this afternoon, while burning less intensely compared to the past couple of days. A larger plume of light smoke was seen dispersing to the west off the coast Naples, with moderate smoke visible closer to the fire perimeter and also heading toward the west. Mexico/Guatemala/Honduras... Fire activity remained high along the western coast of Mexico, the Yucatan Peninsula, northern Guatemala, and Honduras. A large plume of mostly light density smoke extended westward from Jalisco for approximately 600 miles over the Pacific ocean, while a second large plume of light and stagnant smoke covered much of Veracruz and the southwestern Gulf of Mexico, in addition to northern Honduras. Pockets of moderate-density smoke were also visible across western Chihuahua and Durango, with plumes being transported toward the east. WS THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE. TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
