DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 1530Z June 3, 2021
SMOKE: Southeastern Mexico and the western Gulf of Mexico…. An area of light density smoke from the fires over southern Mexico and Central America was extending through the western Gulf of Mexico extending northeast to the northern Gulf of Mexico. Western Mexico and the Tropical Eastern Pacific…. An area of light to moderate density smoke, from fires over western Mexico, extended from the west central Mexico extending northwest to northwest Mexico just south of Arizona. Included in this area, was an area of moderate density smoke over portions of the southern Baja and portions of coastal western Mexico. DUST: Southeastern Caribbean Sea….An area of Saharan Dust was extending through the Tropical Atlantic and extending into the southeastern Caribbean Islands and Caribbean Sea. Hanna THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE. TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
