SMOKE: Eastern Alaska/Northern/Central U.S./Central and Northwestern Canada... Numerous large wildfires in northern California, British Columbia and central Canada are emitting large quantities of smoke across those regions, while also impacting downwind areas to the east-southeast of those sources. As a result, a very large plume of mostly moderate smoke cover areas extending from northern California, into Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, the Dakotas, Nebraska, northeastern Oklahoma, northern Missouri, Tennessee, Iowa, Minnesota, Michigan, Illinois and Wisconsin, while blanketing the majority of central Canada including southeastern British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Quebec, and Ontario. Pockets of moderate-to-high density smoke are found in northern California and central Oregon, southeastern British Columbia, northern Manitoba, most of Ontario, and northern Minnesota. A second large plume covers central-eastern Alaska, extending eastward across northern Yukon and into the Northern Territories. Dust: Central-eastern Caribbean... Light Saharan dust can be found spreading westward across most of the Caribbean Sea ahead of Hurricane Elsa.
