SMOKE: Alaska/Canada/U.S.... Ongoing wildfires with the largest and most intense areas over eastern Alaska/the Yukon, southeastern British Columbia/Pacific Northwest, and far southwestern Ontario/southeastern Manitoba continue to support a huge light density plume that covers eastern Alaska, most of central and southern Canada, and a significant portion of the Continental U.S. A large area of moderate density smoke is found over eastern Alaska, northern Yukon, and the northern part of the Northwest Territories. A second large area of moderate density smoke was detected over most of the Pacific Northwest/southern Canada and the area extending from the Northern Plains and Front Range all the way to the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast. Heavy density smoke plumes were found over southeastern British Columbia, parts of the Pacific Northwest, the central part of Manitoba, far southwestern Ontario, and from the Ohio Valley to western New England. DUST: Caribbean/Atlantic... A light plume of Saharan dust was detected across the central and eastern Caribbean and extended several hundred miles north or Puerto Rico and Hispaniola.
