DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 1710Z August 3, 2021
SMOKE: North America… Continued wildfire activity across the western United States, western Canada and central Canada was producing a tremendous area of smoke that was extending over most of the United States, central and western Canada and into Alaska. Within this area, the highest density smoke was seen extending from the Central and Northern Plains of the United States and western Ontario northwest through central Canada and then into the Pacific Northwest of the United States. Hanna THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE. TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
