SMOKE: Numerous wildfires across the western U.S. and southwestern Canada continue to produce/support a very large plume of smoke across a large part of the U.S. and Canada. A thin density plume covered the Gulf of Alaska, most of southern Canada, and the western 2/3rds of the Continental U.S. Within this thin density plume, moderate density smoke was found over the Great Basin, most of the Rockies, the Northern Plains, and a significant portion of southwestern and south-central Canada. The thickest smoke plumes were detected over interior central and northern California, northwestern Nevada and southeastern Oregon, the Northern Rockies, most of North and South Dakota, southern Saskatchewan and Manitoba, and parts of western Ontario. Konon THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE.
