DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

SMOKE: Mid-Atlantic Region/Southeast... A swath of very thin density aerosol which is likely composed of at least some remnant smoke from daily seasonal fire activity especially across the South-Central and Southeastern U.S. was visible stretching from eastern Alabama across central Georgia and the central Carolinas to Virginia and Maryland. Ohio/West Virginia... Another smaller patch of aerosol which is likely composed of at least some remnant smoke from the daily seasonal fire activity over the South-Central and Southeastern U.S. was detected over southeastern Ohio and western West Virginia. Texas/Oklahoma... A relatively small area of leftover thin density smoke from seasonal fire activity in the South-Central U.S. was visible over a portion of southeastern Oklahoma and north-central Texas including the Dallas-Ft. Worth metro area. Arizona... Several wildfires across the central part of the state were producing mostly small thin density plumes. Konon THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE. TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
