DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 0141 December 3, 2021
SMOKE: Eastern Great Plains, Mississippi Valley, Southeast U.S. Atlantic Ocean, Gulf of Mexico... Heavy agricultural burning activity was observed throughout the eastern Great Plains, Southeast U.S., and the Mississippi Valley. Fires were emitting light to moderate density smoke plumes generally towards the northeast in Oklahoma, Arkansas, Texas, Missouri, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, and Florida. A broader area of light density smoke from these fires was seen along the coast of the Gulf states, through Florida, and continues north along the east coast before being concealed by cloud cover as night approached. Arizona... Seasonal fires in eastern Arizona was emitting a plumb of light to moderated density smoke plumb which was moving northeast in direction. British Columbia, Alberta... Numerous large seasonal fires in British Columbia and Alberta were seen through breaks in the clouds as night approached preventing further analysis. Eglin THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE. TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
