DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

SMOKE: Bay of Campeche, Gulf of Mexico, Eastern/Southern Mexico/Pacific South of Mexico and Northwestern Central America Florida, Caribbean Sea, Atlantic Ocean... Areas of generally thin density aerosol were seen over parts of the western Caribbean Sea, Bay of Campeche, eastern Mexico, southern Mexico, and the Pacific off the coast of southern Mexico, northwestern Central America, the Gulf of Mexico, through the Florida peninsula and into the adjacent coastal Atlantic Ocean region. Some remnant smoke from seasonal fires in this region may be a relatively small portion of this aerosol which is likely composed more of other atmospheric pollutants. Eglin THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE. TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
