DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 1655Z December 11, 2021
SMOKE: South Florida... Agricultural burning activity was observed around the Lake Okeechobee region of South Florida. Light to moderate density smoke plumbs were observed progressing to the north-northwest over Lake Okeechobee this morning. AEROSOL: Bay of Campeche/Eastern/Southern Mexico/Pacific Ocean South of Mexico,Gulf of Mexico... Areas of aerosol that have persisted in this general area is likely primarily composed of atmospheric pollutants with some small contribution from smoke attributed to seasonal fires in the region. Areas of aerosol were visible over the southern and western Bay of Campeche, western Gulf of Mexico, eastern and southern Mexico and over the Pacific south of Mexico. Eglin THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE. TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
