SMOKE: South Florida... Agricultural burning activity persisted around the Lake Okeechobee region of South Florida during the afternoon hours. Multiple small plumes merged to form an area of light-density smoke covering much of the sugar cane fields south of Lake Okeechobee. The smoke was dispersing toward the west. Western Mexico/Pacific Ocean/Bay of Campeche... A large area of light-density stagnant smoke and/or aerosol could be seen stretching along the western Mexico coastline from the state of Jalisco to the north to the state of Chiapas to the south. The plume extended offshore over the Pacific ocean for approximately 200 miles. Another smaller plume consisting of light-density smoke originating from gas flaring activity in the Bay of Campeche could also be seen spreading around the southern Gulf of Mexico moving toward the north-northwest.
