DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 0109Z December 31, 2021
SMOKE: Colorado... A light to heavy density smoke plumb was observed in northern-central Colorado from wildfire. The primarily moderate density smoke plumb was moving east into Kansas and Nebraska along the state line the as evening approached. SMOKE/AEROSOL: Gulf of Mexico/Bay of Campeche/Mexico/Northwestern Central America/Pacific Ocean South of Mexico and Central America, U.S. Gulf States... A typical mix of smoke and aerosols from seasonal burning and oil and gas flaring was observed over portions of western, southern and eastern Mexico, northwestern Central America, an area in the tropical eastern Pacific south and west of the Mexico and Central America coastlines, the western Bay of Campeche, the western and northern Gulf of Mexico, continuing north into Texas and east along the U.S. Gulf coastline ending along the western Florida coastline. DUST: Kansas, Colorado... An area of light blowing dust kicked up in eastern Colorado blowing northeast into Kansas as the evening approached. Eglin THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE. TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
