SMOKE... Coastal Central California... The Colorado wildfire complex located north of Big Sur in the Notleys Landing and Palo Colorado Canyon region diminished in intensity during the afternoon hours. A relatively small plume consisting of light-density smoke could be seen being emitted to the northeast towards Salinas. A separate patch of light-density smoke released earlier in the morning was observed over the Pacific ocean approximately 100 miles from the coast. Southeastern Oklahoma and Eastern Texas... Widespread agricultural and seasonal fire activity was observed over parts of southeastern Oklahoma and eastern Texas with predominantly light-density smoke dispersing clockwise from Oklahoma to Texas. Hispaniola, Cuba, and the Caribbean Sea... Two large wildfires continue to burn in the southwestern Dominican Republic with moderate density smoke dispersing to the west across southern Haiti and over the central Caribbean sea. A few isolated light-density smoke plumes were also observed across eastern Cuba flowing toward the east-southeast. Coastal Southern Mexico/ Central America, and the Eastern Pacific Ocean... Light density stagnant smoke attributed to seasonal fire activity across southern Mexico mixed with aerosols from scattered industrial activity and urban pollution was observed along coastal southern Mexico and Central America, extending for approximately 500 miles over the Pacific ocean.
