smoke/aerosol mix also stretched to the east over much of the Caribbean
including all of Cuba and portions of Hispaniola, the Bay of Campeche,
Gulf of Mexico and up over portions of southeastern U.S including
south central/eastern Texas and Florida. Cloud cover however has made
analysis regarding the full extent of the smoke within the southeastern
U.S difficult this morning. The moderate smoke/aerosol mix was visible
over eastern Mexico, Bay of Campeche, Western Gulf of Mexico, and just
north of Honduras. The smoke was due to ongoing significant seasonal
burning occurring in Mexico and Central America.
