SMOKE: Central and Eastern United States, Mexico, and Southeastern Canada… A combination of active wildfires and agricultural burning activity, couple with smoke from similar activity over the past few days and weeks, has allowed a large area of light density smoke over much of the south central and eastern United States, the northern Gulf of Mexico, across much of northern Mexico extending across the Baja and extending offshore. Alaska, Northwestern and central Canada and the North Central United States…. A large area of light to moderate density smoke, attributed mainly to wildfires burning in portions of Alaska and northwestern Canada was visible today stretching from southern Alaska to the northeast over central and eastern Alaska through northwestern and north central Canada and southeast through British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and into the north central United States. Within this area of smoke, there were several areas of moderate to high density smoke with those being over Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba extending into North Dakota and Manitoba and also closer to the ongoing fires over central and southern Alaska with moderate to high density smoke extending east northeast towards the Yukon. Tropical Atlantic Ocean and Eastern Caribbean Islands…. An area of Saharan Dust was seen extending across the Tropical Atlantic Ocean to near and just east of the eastern Caribbean Islands.
