SMOKE: Central-Southern Canada/Northwestern and Northern U.S... A very large plume consisting of light-to-medium density smoke was observed over most of central-southern Canada including the southeastern Northwest Territories, southern Nunavut, eastern British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, western-central Ontario, in addition to northwestern-northern U.S. states including northwestern California, Oregon (with the exception northwestern counties), Idaho, Montana, the Dakotas, Minnesota, and northern Wisconsin. Areas of heavy smoke impacted eastern Alberta, Saskatchewan, and northern Manitoba, in addition to northwestern California, southern and eastern Oregon, central Idaho and southwestern and northeastern Montana. The smoke was linked to numerous wildfires burning across the southwestern and central Canada and the northwestern U.S., with the bulk of those plumes dispersing toward the northeast-east. Central-Northern Texas... Light-density smoke resulting from numerous agricultural fires in central Texas covered most of that region. Mid-Atlantic Coast... A detached plume consisting of light smoke from western fires extended along the U.S. Mid-Atlantic coastline.
