SMOKE: Eastern, Central and Northwestern United States, Southern Canada…. The fires ongoing over the Pacific Northwest of the United States were continuing to produce a large area of smoke that was extending from the Pacific Northwest along along the northern portion of the United States and southern Canada and then covering most of the central and eastern United States, the Gulf of Mexico, and extending off the East Coast of the United States and well out into the Atlantic Ocean. Within this area of smoke, several areas of moderate density smoke were seen, those being a large patch from southeast Mississippi extending east and northeast to just off the New England coast and into the Atlantic Ocean, a remnant patch from the ongoing fires over the Pacific Northwest extending northeast from Washington, Idaho, and Montana, and finally a small area in western Washington moving west and cover parts of Puget Sound. Nguyen THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE, TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS.
