DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

SMOKE: Gulf of Mexico/Southern and Eastern Mexico/Northwestern Central America/Pacific Ocean South of Mexico and Central America… An area of light density smoke, likely from the scattered fire activity over Mexico and atmospheric pollutants from industrial sources primarily in southeastern Mexico was seen throughout the day over portions of eastern and southeastern Mexico, extending from coastal areas of eastern Mexico and southern Texas east into portions of the western and central Gulf of Mexico and the Pacific south of the southeastern coast of Mexico. California... In northwestern California a light to heavy density smoke plume possibly attributed to wildfires was observed moving southeast in direction staying within the state boarders and was heading towards Santa Rosa California. Eglin THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE, TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
