DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

SMOKE: Florida... Numerous thin density smoke plumes from seasonal fire activity was observed in northern and southern Florida. The smoke was mainly moving north and northeast. Cuba/Caribbean/Gulf of Mexico... Thin remnant smoke from a combination of seasonal fire and possibly industrial activity was observed both the eastern Gulf of Mexico north of Cuba, mingling with cloud cover, and the Caribbean sea south of Cuba. In addition, thin smoke plumes was observed in southern Cuba, moving west towards the Caribbean Sea and may have contributed to the thin smoke observed in this mornings analysis. SMOKE/AEROSOL: Southern Texas, Southern and Eastern Mexico, Northwestern Central America, Western Gulf of Mexico, Pacific Ocean south of Mexico and Northwestern Central America… A combination of thin density smoke from seasonal burning in Mexico and generally thin density aerosols from industrial activity in Mexico was present from the western Gulf of Mexico and southern Texas as well as in southern and eastern Mexico, northwestern Central America and then offshore into the eastern Pacific Ocean south of southwestern Mexico and northwestern Central America. Nguyen THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE, TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
