SMOKE: Canada/Northwestern Atlantic… A large area of smoke primarily linked to major wildfire activity in northeastern British Columbia, northern Alberta and central-northern Saskatchewan continues to blanket the larger part of Canada with the exception of British Columbia and Yukon. Areas of high smoke concentration were found along northern Alberta, central-northern Saskatchewan, southeastern Northwestern Territories, and northwestern Manitoba. Moderate density smoke was seen over the northern Hudson Bay and across central Quebec, extending over the northwestern Atlantic Ocean. The bulk of the smoke is seen dispersing eastward in the general direction of the northern Atlantic. Central U.S… Light smoke resulting from the Canadian wildfires extended south along the Great Plains where it mixed with smoke from seasonal fires around the Mississippi Valley reaching the coastal areas along the northern Gulf of Mexico. Mexico/Central America/Gulf of Mexico/Pacific Ocean… Widespread fire activity continues along much of western and southern Mexico and Central America resulting in light density smoke being observed across the entire region and extending over the Gulf of Mexico, the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean off the coast of southeastern Mexico and Central America.
