DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

SMOKE: Ohio Valley/Mid-Atlantic Region/Northeastern U.S./Atlantic Ocean off the Mid-Atlantic Coast and the Northeastern U.S… A swath of thin density aerosol which is likely composed at least in part by remnant smoke from daily seasonal type fire activity occurring primarily over the central U.S. was seen this morning stretching from the Ohio Valley eastward over the Mid-Atlantic region and the southern part of the Northeastern U.S. and offshore from there over the far western Atlantic. Aerosols: Southern and Eastern Mexico/Pacific Ocean off the Southern Coast of Mexico… Areas of thin density aerosol likely associated with industrial activities in Mexico could be seen over portions of southern and eastern Mexico and some of the Pacific Ocean off the southern coast of Mexico. JS THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE, TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
