DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

SMOKE: Midwestern United States to Southern Ontario… An area of light density smoke, from fire activity over much of the Central United States, was seen extending from portions of the Midwestern United States south through Minnesota and Iowa than east through parts of Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, and into southern Ontario. Kentucky/West Virginia/Arkansas/Missouri… Seasonal burning could be seen producing areas and plumes of mostly light density smoke through parts of Kentucky, West Virginia, eastern Arkansas, eastern and central Missouri. AEROSOL: Mexico/Pacific Ocean south of Mexico… An area of aerosol was seen today across southern Mexico and the Pacific Ocean south of the southern coast of Mexico. It is believed that the vast majority of it is from industrial activities in Mexico. Eglin THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE, TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
