SMOKE/AEROSOL: South Central and Southeastern United States, Atlantic Ocean off the Southeast United States Coast, Gulf of Mexico, Western Caribbean Islands, Western Caribbean Sea, Southern and Eastern Mexico, Northwestern Central America and the Pacific Ocean South of Mexico and Central America… The enormous area of smoke from seasonal fire activity occurring in Mexico, Central America, Cuba and the southeastern United States along with aerosols from industrial activity mainly in Mexico, Central America and Cuba, with probable contributions from recent heavy blowing dust continued to be visible throughout the day generally impacting the same regions affected in recent days. The smoke and aerosol mix covered a portion of the south central and southeastern United States. The mix also was present over the Atlantic well off the southeastern United States, the Gulf of Mexico, the western Caribbean Sea islands, western Caribbean Sea, southern and eastern Mexico, Central America, and the Pacific Ocean well south of the southern coast of Mexico and Central America. Areas of moderately dense smoke can be seen off the southern Mexico coast, and along the eastern coastline of Mexico stretching north and then east across the Gulf of Mexico, parts of southern Texas, southern Louisiana, southern Mississippi, western Hispaniola, Jamaica and most of Cuba.
